 Weather on the Internet

Weather conditions control how and when we apply pesticides. We keep a close eye on the weather and weather forecasts. Knowing what the weather holds in store for the next few days helps us to plan your job and get it done as soon as weather conditions are suitable.

Here are a list of the web sites we think are the best for checking out the weather in our operating area. As you can see we like to go to the horses mouth by looking on the official site of the  Bureau of Meterology

Actual Weather in Goondiwindi

Air Ag has access to a series of weather stations placed around the Goondiwindi region that we use to assess actual weather conditions prior to taking off for a job. This weather station is located near Goondiwindi and has public access rights.

Silo Website

This is a computer model run by the Bureau of Meterology and gives up to 6 days forecast of rainfall, temperature and wind. While it is a computer model and not always reliable with rainfall we find it very good for predicting the wind direction and speed for the next few days. This is vital where you may wish to spray with a drift hazard nearby and you need to know when a favourable is likely to occur. This site requires a subscription at about $100 per year

Bureau of Meterology Agriculture Page

This is a relatively new page that gives some good information for making spraying decisions. It predicts weather conditions, wind directions and has the radar page.
